The Robert Anchipolovsky Quartet presents a special program dedicated to two giants of the tenor saxophone in the history of jazz - Sonny Rollins and Dexter Gordon. These are not just legendary names, but musicians who have had a huge influence on the formation of the language of modern jazz.

Sonny Rollins is a philosopher of improvisation, an architect of musical form, and a musician for whom every performance was a new creative journey. His boundless freedom, unique sense of rhythm and ability to transform a simple melody into a large-scale musical statement forever expanded the understanding of the possibilities of the tenor saxophone.

Dexter Gordon is the epitome of swing, elegance and expressiveness. His recognizable sound and special manner of phrasing seemed to transform every musical phrase into living speech. His music is filled with blues depth, warmth and drama. Gordon became one of the preeminent voices of bebop and hard bop, combining virtuosity with rare humanity and emotional sincerity.

In this project, the Robert Anchipolovsky Quartet not only performs the repertoire of the great masters, but enters into a lively creative dialogue with their musical heritage.

The program includes works closely related to the work of Sonny Rollins and Dexter Gordon, as well as original interpretations that combine respect for the jazz tradition with the individual voice of the musicians and a modern sound.
